THE SOMERSET STRANGLER

High Street was busy and if not for all the sightseeing tourists and the slight curve in the road, you could probably see it and walk it from one end to another in no time at all, which is what Virginia and Sylvia managed to do, scouting along the way for a good place to eat a light supper. They ended up at a pub that served a ploughman's lunch all day long. That turned out to be no more than crusty bread and hard tangy cheese from the town of nearby Cheddar. Their coffee was delicious and their crusty bread fresh and served with butter and cream from a local farm. They agreed it was perfect and would have time to spend the rest of the evening exploring shops, especially the one they had passed on High Street that promised all things Gothic and mystic. They were not disappointed.
